Markow Race Cars started in business building race cars in January of 1991. It all began in the late 80's when owner Mark Markow campaigned a 1967 Chevy II that ran in the mid 8's - quite an accomplishment at the time, especially for a street legal car that weighed over 3,000 lbs. He then moved on to a Top-Sportsmen Berretta that he ran in the IHRA Quick 8 series. The Berretta ran in the low 7 second range.
Racers often would ask, “who built your car?”, Mark would reply, “I did.” That was all it took to get started. Many racers would contact Mark to do work for them. Before too long the demand was overwhelming, and soon Mark quit his full time job at a local speed shop and started MRC.
Over the years MRC has enjoyed great success with customers winning many national and local events, as well as local points championships, NMCA top 10 finishes, numerous NHRA/IHRA best engineered and best appearing awards. They also hold NHRA/IHRA national records in Stock and Super Stock. Mark himself has even won the Northeast Super Slammer Championship in a 1969 Pro-Mod Camaro that he campaigned in the late 90’s. He was also honored by New England Dragway in the year 2000 as Super Slammer Racer of the decade for the 90’s.
MRC knows what it takes to build a winning race car, as well as a consistent and user-friendly car. So now that you have a little background info on MRC, we invite you to contact us and join our growing list of successful customers.
Thanks‚ Mark Markow.
